Career Profile:
Assistant Producer #1065

This director/producer, not a native to Iowa, discovered her interest in broadcast television in college. She studied mass media communication with an emphasis in film at a four-year university and received a Bachelor of Science degree.

Following graduation she contacted her hometown church to let them know she had graduated. The church had recently purchased an entire video production package for their new television program. The pastor asked her to come and talk to him about producing their program. She accepted the offer and produced the weekly program for three years.

In the meantime, a long courtship with an Iowa man resulted in a marriage proposal and a move to Iowa. Two weeks before the wedding, she discovered and applied for a job at a television station in urban Iowa. She was hired to produce short documentaries. The job suits her well and she is thankful for experiences she is gaining here in Iowa.
