Career Profile:
Director of Tourism #1069
Working with her community's chamber of commerce was the farthest thing from her mind when this public relations specialist moved to this Iowa community several years ago. Her husband had been transferred to this area and she became a substitute teacher. Her schooling came as a speech and communications major from a nortwestern Iowa college. She later went on to obtain a Masters Degree in Education. While substituting, she longed to get back into the public relations field. What was she going to do? Lucky for her, the chamber of commerce needed someone to do public relations work. She landed the job and truly enjoys what she does. Each and every day is different and challenging.
