Career Profile: Plumber #1199
This plumber compares his craft to putting together a puzzle. He says plumbers must look ahead to plan the next step because plumbing pipes and fixtures must fit precisely. He does a lot of measuring and figuring of math problems in his head. He uses geometry, fractions, addition and subtraction on a daily basis.
New home construction has kept his business busy since 1996. He has earned a master plumberÂ’s license by passing two exams. On the job experience has been invaluable in becoming skilled in his trade.
Plumbers work in many different settings: new construction, service and repair, large city sewer projects, remodeling and others. This plumber says he enjoys the challenge of each project and takes pride in the completion of a job.
