Career Profile:
Travel Agent #1157

This travel agent knew she enjoyed traveling. She studied the field of travel at a small business college in Iowa for a year before working at an airline for more than three years. She enjoyed the atmosphere, but wanted to work with people on an individual basis, so she decided to become a travel agent. She has been a travel agent for more than five years and loves it.

Her job responsibilities include: making airline, hotel, car and train reservations, as well as booking tours and cruises. Travel agents must possess computer, time management and organizational skills. An understanding of geography and history is also helpful. Good communications skills are critical in this profession. She believes her phone etiquette may help determine potential repeat business.

This travel agent enjoys the opportunity to help people make their travel dreams come true and she enjoys to travel herself. She has been to many parts of the United States and on several cruises. She has also traveled abroad to parts of Europe.
