This chef didn't know he wanted to be a chef but he always knew he enjoyed cooking. He can remember as a young child combining two of his older brothers' favorite foods. He wanted to help his sick brother feel better. Since then he realized that "food makes people feel good."
One of his first jobs in high school was working at a restaurant bussing tables and doing the dishes. He eventually became the assistant to the supervisor and earned money to go to college.
He received his Bachelor's degree in education and worked as a teacher for awhile, but didn't like it. He then decided to go to culinary school.
He says that it is good to have the knowledge in this field, but nothing can substitute for experience. He is currently a chef at an Italian restaurant and loves the freedom to be creative in this art of cooking. Some of the skills used in his job are accounting, art, chemistry, management, math, and communication.
