For more than 25 years, he has been dividing and mapping Iowa's land. Like his father before him, who was also in the surveying industry, it has become a focus of energy and excitement. Although trekking through wind, rain, and mosquito-filled swamps will probably always be part of the land surveyor’s daily life, new surveying technology is constantly changing. What used to be done with survey poles and long chains has been replaced by satellite technology for pinpoint accuracy.
As the owner of this surveying company, he likes to delegate responsibility to his associates. He believes strongly in his staff making their own decisions. Because of his strong leadership and knowledge of the field, as well as his skilled employees, this land surveyor runs one of Iowa's most successful surveying businesses.
