Career Profile: Organic Specialist and Assistant Professor #1092
This organic specialist and assistant professor practices her science at a university where she is a professor in the horticulture and agronomy departments. She conducts research on organic crops suitable to Iowa.
She says individuals in her line of work may pursue job opportunities worldwide. In fact, she has worked in California and Hawaii as well as Central America. She's excited about the opportunities Iowa is offering her. Surprisingly, she did not grow up on a farm, but spent many summers on her mother's family farm.
A great source of pride for this organic specialist is the praise she receives from farmers who are impressed with her yields.
