Zookeeper #1084 - Tape Number: 1084

Career Profile:
Zookeeper #1084 (Now a zoo Curator)

This zookeeper studied biology in college for two years but gained much of his knowledge of African animals from extensive leisure reading. He worked his way up to his position as a zookeeper in the African exhibit after beginning his animal-keeping career in another exhibit area. He says caring for the animals in the African exhibit is similar to caring for farm animals. Much of this zookeeper's time is spent feeding and cleaning up after the animals. He is often asked if he has ever been injured by the wild animals in the African exhibit. Only once, when an angry ostrich kicked him.
