If you ask this State Conservation Officer what he does at work, he'll ask you if it's spring, summer, fall or winter. But this former Navy SEAL does spend a lot of time on lake patrol duties. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Biology.
Previous jobs include: night park ranger, summer waters aide and now, he is a State Conservation Officer. This requires more training at the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy.
He is responsible for law enforcement, public relations, training and safety in the area he covers. He is also a Deputy Federal Game Warden. His job includes enforcing hunting laws and investigating snowmobile, boat and hunting accidents.
One little-known fact: as a State Peace Officer, he has the power to issue traffic tickets.
