A computer systems specialist ensures information is entered, stored, processed, and retrieved in a way that meets the institution's needs. Computer specialists identify computer user problems and help resolve them. Installs, configures, and monitors local and wide area networks, hardware, and software. A person in this occupation compiles, enters, and processes information. A computer systems specialist provides customer and network administration services, such as passwords, electronic mail accounts, security, and troubleshooting.
