Industrial Machinery Mechanic
Maintains and repairs machinery found in a plant or factory. Spends much of the time doing preventative maintenance, which includes keeping machines and their parts well oiled, greased, and cleaned.
Regularly inspects machinery and checks performance. Must be able to spot minor problems and correct them before they become major ones. May work with computerized maintenance-management, vibration analysis techniques, and self-diagnostic systems. After diagnosing a problem, disassembles the equipment and repairs or replaces the necessary parts.
Tests the machine to ensure that it is running properly. Uses a wide range of tools for maintenance and repair work.
