Postal mail carrier

Walks or drives over planned routes to deliver and collect mail. Picks up mail in the early morning and arranges it for delivery. Delivers mail house-to-house, to roadside mailboxes and to large buildings along the route. On foot, carries a heavy load of mail in a satchel or pushes it in a cart. Collects postage due and delivery receipts for registered, certified or insured mail. Returns to post office with mail gathered from places along the route. Turns in mail receipts and fees collected during the day. May separate letters and parcels for further processing by clerks.
