State Peace Officer
State peace officers in the state of Iowa patrol, investigate arrests, issue citations, take statements, and conduct search warrants. They ensure compliance of the law by recreationists who hunt, fish, trap, boat and operate snowmobiles and ATVs.They investigate accidents in the above areas. Officers must be familiar with and interpret the Code of Iowa. State peace officers are responsible for communicating regulations and policies to the public so that citizens have a respect for the natural resources of the state. They also promote effective safety education programs. Officers are trained in firearms safety and CPR.
