Some people may think of an architect as a person who simply designs buildings. But, in the real world, design is only a small part of a job that also includes coordinating budget, marketing, construction and people issues. By definition, an architect is someone who plans, designs and supervises the construction of structures as well as parks, airports and highways. Architects are involved in all phases of a project's development from the first discussion of general ideas with a client through construction.

Kevin has been an architect for 15 years. His father and high school teachers greatly influenced his career choice. His dad was a home builder when Kevin was growing up. Kevin was able to visit construction sites as a child and enjoyed the atmosphere. Those experiences combined with his artistic talents and his parents' encouragement led him down the career path of an architect.
