Describe a typical "challenge" encountered in your work:
A typical challenge would be meeting a customer’s allowances that are given to him/her from the builders. This would be a set amount he/she can spend on the flooring.

Clearly describe what you expect from the students:
I have an allowance of $8,000. The house is 1,400 square feet. The customers must decide on types of flooring and the quality. In making their decisions they must stay under $8,000; if they go over that amount the customer pays the difference. Design a plan for spending the $8,000. Include types and qualities of flooring.

In order to give the teacher some guidance in evaluating the student's project(s); list some tips that may help to assess the student's work:
Did students concentrate on heavy traffic areas? Those areas will need more durable flooring. How do they achieve the look they want but maintain the spending allowance? Did they scale down in price in the less travelled areas of the home? Did they consider a variety of styles and types of flooring? Did they stay within the dollar limit?
