Describe a typical "challenge" encountered in your work:
The drilling reservist marine is in charge of a troop of individuals. Because these people are from a variety of backgrounds, you will need to train them. Whether it’s peacekeeping or war activity, the leader will need to train individuals to carry out the tasks. The Marines Corps has established minimum standards. You will evaluate five classmates, using the “Physical Fitness Test.” You will graph the results, and design a physical training program, which will provide training so that these individuals will attain the minimum physical standards

Clearly describe what you expect from the students:
You will recruit five students to participate in the “Physical Fitness Test.” Using this assessment, you will function as a drilling reservist marine, and administer the required components: dead hanging, modified crunches, and three-minute running. A graph will be made of the performance of the five individuals. You will design a training program and carry out the activities with your participants, with the minimum standards of the Marine Corps as your goal. Within a four-week period, re-administer the “Physical Fitness Test” and graph the results. Note those who attained the goal of meeting the minimum requirements.

In order to give the teacher some guidance in evaluating the student's project(s); list some tips that may help to assess the student's work:
Did the student complete the requirements of the challenge?
What resources did the student pursue?
How did the student develop a plan of action?
How many participants attained the goal?
What leadership qualities did the student display?
What type of record keeping did the student utilize?
Was the student able to break down the whole picture into smaller, obtainable objectives?
