Describe a typical "challenge" encountered in your work:
I work in the schools throughout the state of Iowa as a visiting artist; I also work in my studio creating individual paintings and artworks.
How do I divide my time so that I can use my studio and generate income from studio work?
Clearly describe what you expect from the students:
Is there a place(s) to show my artwork in various areas of the state that would help sell my work: galleries, juried show, art fairs. What type of artwork do these galleries or museums feature; crafts, fine art, wildlife art, traditional?
What are the definitions of all of the above?
Role play a situation in which the artist approaches a shop owner to convince the owner to show the artist's work.
In order to give the teacher some guidance in evaluating the student's project(s); list some tips that may help to assess the student's work:
Did the students investigate a variety of sources? What resources did students utilize to find outlets for art work? Arts listings in local newspapers, magazines, gallery guides, universities, museum shops, internet, phone book.
