Describe a typical "challenge" encountered in your work:
In anywhere from 1 hour to 2 days I have to teach soft skills (as opposed to "hard" or technical skills) to people with a variety of learning styles. Hard skills might be thought of as the technical skills such as how to operate a car (turn the key this way, press your foot on the brake that way, turn the wheel this way, etc.) Soft skills are harder to teach because they are not a quantifiable set of hard and fast rules. With technical skills you do something and generally get the same result every time. Soft skills are interpersonal and though we can pass on some principles and good ideas, we can not make any promises about results (e.g.: if you smile just this way at people, they will never get mad).

Clearly describe what you expect from the students:
You have a half-day session to engage a variety of people with different learning styles (audio, visual, kinesthetic, etc.) and teach them how to be more effective team members. Consider: a. How to reach all the learning styles and b. How to teach them to be good team members. You must consider what's important for team members to get along well and how individuals can get their needs met while still satisfying the needs of the team.

In order to give the teacher some guidance in evaluating the student's project(s); list some tips that may help to assess the student's work:
1. Did the students suggest practical teaching tips that would address all learning styles? Did they incorporate the use of all five senses? Did they come up with ideas of how to teach the material with kinesthetic practice rather than just lecture? Are the exercises transferable (will the students likely remember and apply what they have learned outside of the learning environment. 2. Did they consider some ideas of how to teach soft skills (as opposed to hard or technical skills or information)? 3. Ask students to do research to learn more about the different types of learning styles.
