Describe a typical "challenge" encountered in your work:
Time management. I need to spend time on:
· Research
· Teaching
· Administration and committee work
· Public outreach
· Recruitment
What mix is most beneficial to the department and me?

Clearly describe what you expect from the students:
Research example:
You have a research budget of $25,000 per year. How is this best spent? On publishing, research equipment, travel to observatories, student help, and professional assistance? You also need to have an impact on the international research scene to give experience to your students and to promote the department.

In order to give the teacher some guidance in evaluating the student's project(s); list some tips that may help to assess the student's work:
What do the students consider the most important part of the research?
· Getting important results that solve unique problems.
· Getting peer recognition so that research funding is more likely to continue.
· Providing funds to assist students through college.
· Providing experiences that help train students.
· Providing training to researcher so they become a better informed teacher.
