Describe a typical "challenge" encountered in your work:
It is our job to assist individuals with disabilities to obtain and maintain jobs in their chosen fields. We have received a referral for a person seeking a career in the field of agriculture/horticulture. The person that is being referred states that he has difficulty standing for long periods of time due to an artificial limb. He also states that a learning disability interferes with his ability to accurately complete most employment applications. This person may have a related work history and education. This person also may require accommodations to offset potential barriers or limitations.

Clearly describe what you expect from the students:
A. How would you obtain relevant medical, educational and vocational information from physicians, schools, past employers, etc.? Give us an example of written communication that would motivate one of these sources to give us useful information in a timely manner.

B. What marketing materials would be useful when approaching potential employers? Give us an example of a written brochure that would address concerns of potential employers or inform them about our services.

C. How would you go about contacting potential employers? Develop a plan on how you would research potential employers and arrange meetings to persuade someone to hire your client.

D. What are some Internet sources that could be useful in promoting employment for individuals with disabilities or assisting employers to make reasonable accommodations?

In order to give the teacher some guidance in evaluating the student's project(s); list some tips that may help to assess the student's work:
